The book
Aligned Lead with Love, Live with Intention
Aligned is a field guide for anyone rebuilding after heartbreak and trying to become someone they're proud of. Written straight from inside the work. No guru act. No fluff.
- Part IDecoding loveWhy the person you're grieving may never have existed — and what you were actually mourning.
- Part IIBuilding yourselfThe habits, honesty and discipline that rebuild your confidence from the ground up.
- Part IIILiving with intentionChoosing a direction on purpose, and actually walking it.
I'm in the process of becoming an author — and honestly, it still feels surreal to write that. Publishing a book has recently become a dream of mine. Not for my name on a cover, but because I want to put something into the world that genuinely helps people with their relationships and the way they live their lives. This is that book.
The first chapter is available to read right here, for free. If it reaches just one person — if it helps one of you become more confident in your own life and step into becoming a new person — then every word of it was worth writing.
“When we grieve over the heartbreak, we are actually grieving over the thing that we thought it was.”

Grieving a Ghost — The Person You're Mourning Never Existed
You hear the dreaded words; your stomach falls through the floor. Your chest tightens; you stop listening, trying to process what is actually happening. Everything in your body becomes hollow, and you feel the tears rushing to exit your eyes. While tears fall, everything in your body loses energy, and it feels like the world just came crashing down right on top of you.
The hardest part of a relationship. When we get into them, we never think about the inevitable until it arrives. The person you are imagining a future with and ready to walk through life with has just slipped through your fingers. The heartbreak is terrible, and it's not a bad thing if you have to grieve to heal yourself back up into the person you were the day before the breakup. Healing is a good part of heartbreak because it gives you many lessons throughout your life, and everything happens for a reason.
Some people are heartbroken over someone whom they only met for a month, or never even made a move. Whether it was on a dating app, and you thought the date was going smoothly. Then one day, out of nowhere, you never hear a text back from them. We can be heartbroken when someone we like gets into another relationship, but in reality, if they get into a relationship with someone else in your fingertips, they were not looking at you as an option or not the right one in the moment. So we grieve. Through lonely nights, where you sit alone, playing back all the memories that you once had with them. If it were someone you had been talking to for one month, maybe you are playing your future repeatedly in a what-if scenario.
Heartbreak is hard to control because emotions can take over, and the text that you shouldn't have sent is now in their phone. Having the mindset of "I don't care anymore about this person," but if you're texting them, then you are casting your last hook for attention.
I can't just type this page and say that heartbreak is not something you should cry over. The void is now just sitting in your life, and your life has just been completely flipped upside down. Imagine you are running a race, and then suddenly you roll your ankle and you can't run anymore. Like relationships, you are running through life with this person, and one step later, they are not even there anymore. You cannot continue the race until you heal your ankle. With one foot, you can slowly proceed to completing the race, which is what people with heartbreak do; they make it through long days even if they have little to give, until they heal again. When we think of heartbreak, what do we normally think about?
I want you to think about that question for a minute. Heartbreak and grieving over the loss of someone is what we normally think of. When we grieve over the heartbreak, we are actually grieving over the thing that we thought it was…
